Exploring Careers in the...
Alternative Commercial Finance Industry
Alternative Commercial Finance
Today's Alternative Commercial Finance Industry continues to offer exceptional opportunities to those with a career orientation towards business finance and also prepared to meet the industry's challenges.  With industry participants numbering well into the thousands in the U.S. alone, certain skills and areas of expertise are always in demand.  These include:

  • Data Entry:  For those with a financial background, industry lenders are constantly seeking data entry personnel with a penchant for accuracy and a basic transactional knowledge.

  • Account Executives:  Typically those that monitor the lender / borrower relationship and insure the integrity of the lender's collateral.

  • Underwriters:  Those with the experience, education, and necessary skills to determine the acceptability of new clients for lending and finance and to carry this through the contracting phase.

  • Business Development Officers:  Skilled sales professionals with the ability to market a lender's products to the business community.  Experienced "BDOs" with a proven track record are in constant demand but especially in the factoring and asset-based lending arenas. (more)

The role and importance of the independent "broker" or commercial financial consultant is well known throughout the ACF industry.  In fact, you will often see specific areas of a lender's web site devoted expressly to providing information and support to attract such independent sources of referral.

In today's bank impaired economy and with more small capital-starved business ventures being started each and every day, there has never been a greater need for business consultants armed with a "rich" knowledge of the financing power of alternative commercial finance product areas.
